A Winter Poem For Cleveland

Skies dreary
over Lake Erie
ground white
no sunlight
bulky big coats
colds and sore throats
homemade stew
in bed with the flu
snow birds
fled in herds
to stay warm
avoid a storm
lake effect snow
on driveways we blow
freezing cold
is GETTING OLD!
snow covered street
ice and sleet
high heating bill
fights the chill
cooped inside
from winter we hide
yet, come next december
we won't remember
this winter weather
seems to last forever!
